In the belief that the key is a strong SIC (Shetland Islands Council) with the will to assert Shetland's rights, SOUL is promoting a more open democracy in Shetland by organising a monthly referendum on subjects of importance to Shetlanders.

If you care about meaningful and open democracy, please support our efforts to introduce it in Shetland. It is our hope that it will not only benefit Shetland, but that these islands may provide a model for other communities and countries. With the eyes of the world upon us, it is important that we are successful.
